Jacqueline Fernandez grew up in Bahrain, Manama. She is Sri Lankan and comes from a multiethnic background. The father of Jacqueline's Elroy Fernandez hails of Sri Lanka (Sinhalese - Catholic)and her mother Kim is a Malaysian. Jacqueline is the oldest of two brothers as well as a younger sister. Due to unrest in the country, her parents relocated to Bahrain in the early 1980s. After finishing the schooling in Bahrain she was awarded the Scholarship at the University of Sydney to pursue the Media and Communications Degree in Sydney, Australia. She went to the Berlitz school of languages which helped her improve on French, Arabic and Spanish. Miss Sri Lanka 2006 was title in the month of March, 2006; she also participated in Miss Universe 2006 In 2006 she won the Miss Sri Lanka title. Then, she stepped into the world of television, hosting the show about Sri Lankan businesses named Lanka Business Report. Padukone's father was a badminton player Prakash Padukone. Padukone has been raised both in Copenhagen as well as Bangalore. When she was a teenager, she played badminton in the national championships, but she ended her profession in sports to pursue a career as a model. Padukone's native language is Konkani. She is Mangalorean from her birthplace. Padukone is a village located within the Kundapura Taluk of Karnataka's Udupi District. Prakash Padukone has retired as a world-renowned athlete in badminton, while her mother also works as a travel advisor.
